Atlantis Casino Resort Spa and Bistro Napa proudly present an evening of island-inspired cuisine and cocktails featuring Bacardí Rum on Thursday, May 31, 2012 at 6p.m.
Founded in 1862 in Santiago de Cuba by Facundo and José Bacardí Massό, Bacardí Rum became known for its smooth taste. Following the Cuban Revolution, the family shifted production to Puerto Rico and grew the company into an international powerhouse. Today, Bacardí is the largest, privately held, and family-owned spirits company in the world. The Bacardí product line extends beyond the original white rum, which Ernest Hemingway preferred for his daiquiris.
For this dining event, the cocktail line-up will include special libations featuring Bacardí’s Gold, Oakheart Spiced, Superior, 8 Year and Solera rums. The best complement to an excellent drink is an equally excellent food pairing. Bistro Napa’s culinary team worked with the rum to create island-inspired dishes. The Amuse Bouche of “Fire and Ice” – a whimsical creation of spice-rubbed ahi tuna served with wasabi cotton candy – will set the tone for the evening. The first course is a palate-soothing Indonesian Seafood Soup with coconut milk and cilantro. The second course will feature Free-Range Jerk Chicken with wood-fired baby pineapple and roasted red pepper risotto. The third course is a beautiful fish course of Barramundi Baked in a Banana Leaf served with a conch and plantain fritter and sweet potato and molasses puree. For the fourth course, guests will be treated to Roast Kalua Pig on the Rotisserie, served with Caribbean black beans and rice. A dessert of Key Lime Crème Brûlée will round out our tropical feast.
