Mirepoix USA will be one of 20 restaurants and specialty food stores participating in “A Toast & Taste of Summer”, a Reno, NV fundraiser for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Northern Nevada Branch.

Attendees of “A Toast & Taste of Summer” will have the opportunity to sample foie gras in Reno, Nevada, at one of the cities largest gourmet food and wine fundraisers. “A Toast & Taste of Summer” is organized by Encore Beverage, and benefits the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation Northern Nevada Branch.
“A Toast & Taste of Summer” will be held at the Atlantis Casino Resort Spa on Thursday, June 6, from 6 – 9 pm. Approximately twenty restaurants and gourmet food stores and forty wineries and breweries will serve their products to the 600 attendees expected at the event. There will be a photography display and live music entertainment. The annual fundraiser is sponsored by KOLO News Channel 8, The Atlantis Casino Resort Spa, Whispering Vine, Mirepoix USA, and local restaurants, wineries and breweries. Proceeds from the public ticket sales and silent auction will benefit the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF).
JDRF is the only global organization with a strategic plan to deliver a continuous flow of life-changing therapies and, ultimately, a cure for Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) through the funding of research.

The foie gras will be served two ways: seared and served hot, and sliced and served on toasted baguette with a coffee reduction and roasted cocoa nibs. Additionally, Mirepoix USA will serve one of Hudson Valley Foie Gras’ new product releases, duck rillettes. The duck rillettes will be served on toast with pickled apricot jam.
