Reno Aces Baseball
The Reno Aces are northern Nevada's first-ever Triple-A baseball team and have a hometown following. The Aces home field is in a new, $40 million outdoor stadium in the heart of downtown Reno. Reno Bighorns Basketball
In 2008, the downtown Reno Events Center became home to the Reno Bighorns, an NBA Development League team associated with the Sacramento Kings and the New York Knicks. The team began play in November 2008, with 24 home games through April 2009 and featured 31 NBA players, including former University of Nevada, Reno stars Nick Fazekas and Ramon Sessions. Learn More

Great Reno Balloon Race
The Great Reno Balloon Race is the largest free hot air ballooning event in the Nation. During three days in early September, you can look up into the Reno skies and see a rainbow of hot air balloons soaring about. From its humble beginnings in 1982 with just 20 balloons, The Great Reno Balloon Race has taken flight with more than 100 balloons each year. Taking place just a few miles north of downtown Reno, the event enchants both young and old with its vibrant colors and inspiring music. The Balloon Race has won many awards over the years including Best Special Event in Reno and Best Special Event in Northern Nevada. With an average of 140,000 spectators attending the event each year, the number of lives touched by the beautiful spectacle continues to rise just like the balloons themselves. Hot August Nights
During Hot August Nights, cars are "cherry" and cruisin' is "too cool." More than 800,000 people flock to where cars are the stars and rock 'n roll rules through dozens of concerts, controlled cruises, show-n-shines, a sock hop and much more. The Air Races have been run since 1964 near Reno, Nev., and are currently held at Reno Stead Field, about eight miles north of Reno.

The "Wildest, Richest Rodeo in the West," the Reno Rodeo is a 10-day event. The Reno Rodeo is a PRCA (Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association) sanctioned sporting event. Street Vibrations Motorcycle Festival is a celebration of music, metal and motorcycles. Street Vibrations offers tours, live entertainment, parades, ride-in shows, stunt shows and more. This event is so big, it rocks at several locations throughout the region. Major event venues are planned at Harley-Davidson Dealerships in Carson City and Reno and in historic Virginia City.
