Atlantis Northern Nevada’s Sole Four Green Globes Certified Resort

Respected certification recognizes buildings committed to environmental efficiencies

RENO, NV—Atlantis Casino Resort Spa announces that it is the only building in northern Nevada to be assessed by the Green Building Initiative (GBI), resulting in its top rating – the prestigious Four Green Globes certification.  

The Four Green Globes certification indicates a score of 85 percent to 100 percent, proving that a property demonstrates national leadership and excellence in the practice of water, energy, and environmental efficiency to reduce environmental impacts.

“This certification is the result of Atlantis’ efforts to build and maintain the most energy-efficient facilities possible,” said Perry Sanders, Atlantis’ Engineering Director. “We are committed to providing our guests with the absolute best possible experience across all facets of their stay. To assess an existing building for its environmental impact, GBI contracts a third party industry expert who evaluates submitted information and conducts an onside walkthrough to inspect and verify environmental claims. GBI’s rating system evaluates environmental impacts on a 1,000-point scale across six different environmental assessment areas: energy, water, resources, emissions, indoor environment, and environmental management. Each environmental assessment area includes weighted criteria with an assigned number of possible points.

The Four Green Globes certification comes on the heels of Atlantis being named Nevada Hotel & Lodging Association’s Leading Sustainability hotel for 2017, an award presented during the Stars of the Industry gala Oct. 26 in Las Vegas.
